The Harbormaster’s House

Carl Fisher, an entrepreneur who sought to make Montauk the “Miami Beach of the North” in the 1920s, built this house as the residence for his harbormaster. Now at the geographic center of the sprawling Gosman’s Dock, in this early-1960s depiction the adjacent Bonart Gallery is one of few structures at the scene.
